About this walkA fairly small circular walk but offers lots of swimming for the dogs. Mine love swimming in the reservoir. There are sheep around one half of the reservoir so dogs may have to be on lead but the other half does not have sheep. A football field is also on route so dogs can have a run around there too.

What's better Cheddar Gorge or Wookey Hole?
Always Cheddar. Wookey is OK and has the underground lake to look at but they take you on a tour so you don't get to hang around. Ceddar has three caves (one with a dragon) and you can take your time. Cheddar also has great walks around the gorge and more choice for cafes - walk up the gorge a bit for quiteter ones.How long does it take to walk through cheddar caves?

There's then a rocky uphill path to reach the top of the Gorge. From there you can come down Jacobs Ladder for free. Unless you have small kids with you/want to go into the caves, there's no need to pay for this tourist attraction at all. I would suggest visiting the Gorge, pay for parking at the entrance at the bottom then find your parking spot. Go for a walk and explore. Enjoy it because it is a wonder but don't build your trip around this natural attraction. You will see wild goats and more in the Gorge which are wonderful.Are dogs OK in the boot?
