Scarborough South Bay has a fantastic selection of funfair amusements and traditional seaside activities including bowling, ice cream parlours, cafes and restaurants. Traditional Bingo and slot machines, snooker halls and fairground rides.
Scarborough is a bustling town all year round. Clearly the summer season brings the majority of visitors with shops and attractions often reducing their business hours through the winter, some even choosing to close completely.
What happens if it rains at Scarborough Open Air Theatre?
Concerts are only ever cancelled due to the weather if the conditions become dangerous. However, you cannot bring an umbrella, so please dress appropriately. The show will continue to go ahead if it rains and there will be no refunds offered should you chose to leave due to weather.

Does Scarborough have a fairground?
Bump on the bumper cars, re-live a by gone era on the gallopers or take your breath away on the speedway – there is a ride for everyone at The Scarborough Fair Collection.
The 32-metre high wheel gives visitors a birds-eye view of the South Bay and North Sea. It is set to open between April and October. It is operated by Observation Wheel UK and is capable of carrying a maximum of 144 passengers with six people seated in each of its 24 enclosed gondolas.
We are open Wednesday through to Saturday from 10am-4pm. Last admission is at 3pm, and the cafe closes at 3pm. We re-open for 2023 on Wednesday 29th March 2023.
Cost: At the gate: $37 adults; $17 children ages 5–12; free for children age 4 and younger. Tickets are available online and discount tickets can be purchased at North Texas Tom Thumb & Albertsons stores.
Dress for a family friendly environment and with consideration of the weather for an outdoor event. We do admit costumes to add to the overall atmosphere of the Festival. Renaissance clothing is also available for rent or purchase from the fine clothiers at the Festival.
The popularization of Scarborough Fair today is due to rock & roll greats Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, who were introduced to it by Martin Cathy, a British singer. The song was then re-written with a song of theirs, 'Canticle' and its popularity rose due to its anti-war lyrics during the Vietnam war period.

In Scarborough Town Centre, you will find a mix of popular high street stores and small independent boutiques. You will find many of your favourite high street shops in Scarborough's Brunswick Shopping Centre which is home to over 30 shops and cafes.
Free parking readily available from 1 November to Easter otherwise it maybe zcase of residential streets some distance from the seafront. For Scarborough, I usually head to where the disc zone runs out on the south cliff, near the Italian Gardens, putting green etc.
