In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, the Can of Dog Food is the third item in the main trading sequence. Link obtains it by trading the Ribbon to CiaoCiao (a small Chain Chomp) inside the small house next to Madam MeowMeow's home in Mabe Village. It is then traded to Sale on Toronbo Shores for Bananas.
In Link's Awakening, the Dog Food is the third item in the Trading Quest. YipYip will give Link this can of Dog Food in return for a Ribbon. The can of Dog Food can then be given to the hungry Sale on Toronbo Shores, who then gives Link a bunch of Bananas as thanks.
Dogs in BOTW tend to prefer raw meat and apples. To feed a dog, simply drop an item from your inventory near the dog. The dog should begin to follow you as soon as you've fed it once -- allowing you to play fetch with it by tossing a branch or even make it chase its own tail by running in a circle around the dog.
The Pegasus Boots can be found randomly on Item Podiums. They allow Link to sprint at faster speeds and are invaluable in the battle against Derazoru. Link can alter which direction he is running somewhat slightly, but this is only effective in anyway if Link is slightly off-aim from his destination.
The Koholint Sword is the best sword in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for Switch. This sword replaces Link's original sword and deals more damage. When Link's health is full, this sword shoots magic beams.
The Pineapple is the seventh item in the game's Trading Quest. It is received from Chef Bear in Animal Village after giving her the Honeycomb for her dish. The Pineapple is later given to Papahl in Tal Tal Heights when he asks Link to give him something to eat. As thanks, Papahl gives him the Hibiscus.
Eating one raw heals half of a Heart. When cooked, the resulting Food provides Link with attack buffs. Mighty Bananes exposed to Fire become Roasted Mighty Bananas. They can be used at the Kochi Dye Shop to make Yellow Dye.
Feeding Dogmeat Treats - Walk up to him and select the option to trade with him. Give him a dog treat, gives Dogmeat +1 strength and +1 agility for 120 seconds, plus restore a bit of health.
To rescue BowWow, Link must enter Moblin Cave located in Tal Tal Heights and defeat King Moblin who will comment on Link's objective. After King Moblin is defeated, BowWow can be found chained to a rock in the next room.
The "7-7-7 Rule" for dogs is a puppy socialization guideline, suggesting that before 7 weeks old (though often adapted for later, post-vaccination stages), a puppy should experience 7 new surfaces, 7 different people, and 7 new objects/challenges to build confidence and prevent fear, fostering a well-adjusted adult dog. Key elements include varied textures (grass, carpet, tile), meeting people of different ages/appearances, and gentle exposure to things like toys, crating, sounds, and simple obstacles (steps, tunnels).
The 7-second rule for dogs is a simple test for hot pavement: place the back of your hand on the surface; if you can't comfortably hold it there for seven seconds, it's too hot for your dog's paws and can cause burns, so walk on grass or at cooler times of day instead. This prevents painful paw pad injuries, especially on asphalt and concrete that get much hotter than the air temperature.
Called "L-2" in-game, Link can replace his Sword with the Koholint Sword by finding and bringing 20 Secret Seashells in Link's Awakening or 40 in the Nintendo Switch remake to the Spirit of the Mansion in the Seashell Mansion.
It's got all the side quests like ALttP but overall fits together more puzzle like than anything else. Your first playthrough is probably spent trying to figure out what to actually do next because it's not immediately obvious. For that reason, itself aged well.
