Yes, the Drifter in Warframe can be female. While there is no direct "gender" toggle, players can create a female-presenting Drifter by selecting feminine facial features, body shapes, and voices during customization in the Operator/Drifter customization menu. The appearance is primarily determined by the "Face" options chosen.
There is no option to change the Drifter's gender, but a male or female voice and body shape can be selected independently from each other through the "Face" and "Voice" options.

What happens if I choose drifter instead of operator?
The Drifter can carry a different Amp and set of Arcanes to their Operator counterpart, making for a convenient way of quickly switching to an alternate build when necessary (i.e. a specific build for Eidolon hunts for the Drifter, another specific build for Zariman missions for the Operator).
