Edinburgh Christmas markets are just a month away, and Edinburgh's Christmas organisers Unique Events and Assembly Festival have got quite the line-up this year. This year, Edinburgh Christmas is on from November 17, 2023, until January 6, 2024.
Running for seven magical weeks from Friday 17 November 2023 to Saturday 6 January 2024, Edinburgh's Christmas transforms the beautiful city centre with festive fun for all the family, including traditional Christmas Markets, funfair rides, spectacular live outdoor events, delicious food and drink, plus so much more.
Loved the Christmas Market it was brilliant plenty of stalls, plenty of food and drink and the atmosphere was brilliant. Felt very safe as lot's of security guards around keeping check. We went on the rides they were not cheap but we did enjoy them.
What will be there? The Edinburgh Christmas Market is expected to be held at its usual site in East Princes Street Gardens, very close to Edinburgh Waverley railway station. Scotland's largest ferris wheel is expected to be there, as well as a host of gifts stalls, food and drink stands, and rides.
Several key city centre streets, including Princes Street, are off-limits to private cars. Princes Street and Shandwick Place are restricted to buses, trams and taxis only and "Bus Lanes" to speed progress of public transport at peak times can slow yours in a car.
The Wheel of Manchester was a transportable Ferris wheel installation at Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester, England. The wheel was originally a smaller installation based in Exchange Square, first assembled in 2004. The wheel's size was increased to 60 metres (197 ft) in 2007, and plans existed to increase this further.
