Yes, Paultons Park closes for a winter break but operates on selected dates during late Autumn and the Christmas season, including special festive days between Christmas and New Year, before closing fully for January and some February dates, reopening fully in spring. You need to check their official calendar for specific operating dates, as they run special events like "Christmas at Paultons" on select days, but remain closed on major holidays like Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Please check opening times carefully when planning your visit and note that the Park is closed 24th - 31st December, all of January and selected dates in February, March, October, November and December. Please see Paultons Park website for further information.
✨ We're now open every single day right up to Christmas Eve, and then again from 27th December to 3rd January (excluding New Year's Day) with all of your favourite rides in Tornado Springs, Peppa Pig World, Lost Kingdom and Critter Creek. That's over 30 in total, more than any other UK Theme Park this winter!
I would go so far as to really recommend a winter trip to Peppa Pig World. Despite it being a chilly Saturday we barely had to queue for any rides. Matilda's favourite ride was Grandpa Pig's Boat ride and we were able to go on three(!) times in a row as the queues were so small.
In 2027, Peppa Pig will continue with a fresh supply of new episodes produced by Karrot Animation, building on a content plan extending through that year, maintaining the classic style, and featuring ongoing adventures with the familiar characters, alongside new annuals and potentially new themes like Peppa Adventures, following the original creators stepping back in 2021.
Yes, several UK theme parks, including Alton Towers, LEGOLAND Windsor, Chessington World of Adventures, Paultons Park (Peppa Pig World), and Drayton Manor, offer special Christmas events and festive openings on select dates in December, featuring themed rides, shows, and Santa visits, though some major rides might be closed for the winter season at parks like Alton Towers. These parks focus on seasonal activities rather than full-throttle ride operation like summer, with many offering short breaks and themed experiences for families.
The "120-minute rule" at Disney is a key part of the Genie+ service, allowing you to book another Lightning Lane (LL) reservation two hours after booking your last one, or after you've used your current LL, whichever comes first, enabling you to "stack" reservations for later in the day. This rule prevents you from being stuck with only one selection if your first booking has a far-off return time, like later in the evening.
So far, Disneyland has confirmed that holiday decor, live entertainment and seasonal foods will return to both parks in winter 2026 along with the Disney Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure. Disney chefs always cook up a new menu lineup for DCA's annual Festival of the Holidays food festival.
The Disney 3-2-1 rule is a popular park planning strategy to reduce stress by focusing on 3 must-do rides, 2 entertainment experiences (shows, parades, characters), and 1 priority dining/snack, making everything else a bonus, not pressure. It helps manage expectations in overwhelming parks, ensuring key goals are met for a more magical, burnout-free day.
On 16 March 2021, it was announced that the series was renewed until 2027, with the original creators and studio (Astley Baker Davies) replaced by Karrot Animation (producers of Sarah & Duck).
2025 brought major openings like Universal's Epic Universe in Florida (featuring Harry Potter, Nintendo, and How to Train Your Dragon lands) and Hossoland in Poland, alongside additions like Busch Gardens' The Big Bad Wolf coaster and UK parks getting new areas and expansions, showcasing a mix of new parks and big attractions globally, with focus on immersive IP-driven lands and large-scale projects.
Christmas at Paultons offers something special for everyone. From enchanting illuminations to festive treats, seasonal shows to thrilling rides, it's a joyful way to celebrate the end of the year.
We do not have accommodation on site at Paultons. However Official Paultons Break packages are available which include a day in the Park, overnight accommodation in a local hotel and a second day in the Park free of charge. Please visit Paultons Breaks for more information.
The "2 PM rule" at Disney World was a temporary restriction that prevented guests with Park Hopper tickets from visiting a second theme park until after 2 PM, a rule implemented during the pandemic to manage crowds, but it has been officially retired as of January 9, 2024, meaning you can park hop anytime after entering your first reserved park. The key requirement now is that if you have a park reservation, you must enter that first park before hopping, but you can then hop immediately to other parks without waiting until 2 PM.

When Oliver Cromwell and his Puritan forces took over England in 1645, they vowed to rid the country of decadence and, as part of their effort, cancelled Christmas. After Cromwell's death, Charles II was restored to the throne in 1660 and, with him, came the return of the popular holiday.

The Disney "60/10 Rule" (or 60+10) is a system for booking Walt Disney World dining reservations: Guests can book 60 days in advance, but Disney Resort guests get a perk to book for their entire stay (up to 10 nights) starting 60 days before their check-in date, allowing them to book popular spots for days beyond the standard 60-day window, giving them a significant booking advantage.
Yes, Legoland at Christmas is generally considered worth it for families with young children, offering a magical, festive atmosphere with lights, LEGO decorations, themed rides, shows, and a well-organized visit with Father Christmas, though some guests find queues and costs for extras like the Santa experience steep, so checking ride availability and booking Santa in advance is key.
