A fire broke out at a holiday resort. Firefighters attended the blaze at Butlin's in Bognor last night. A spokesman from the resort said all guests are ok and were allowed back into the hotel once the incident was dealt with by emergency services.
Its operating loss narrowed from £22.9m to £10.9m in the year. The new accounts also show its turnover rose from £290.4m to £292.7m over the 12 months. Butlin's did not issue a dividend for the year, having paid out £91.2m in 2022.
People have been urged by firefighters to avoid an area of Bognor Regis after a blaze. West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (WSFRS) said it was called to a fire at an "industrial building" on Ockley Road at 6:00 BST. It said eight fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were on the scene at the height of the blaze.

A YOUNG woman died after buying and taking a combination of illegal drugs during an adults only weekend break in Minehead. Kerry Leigh, aged 33, a fire surveyor who lived in Salisbury, had been staying in the town's Butlin's holiday resort at the time.

The Minehead monorail closed following an accident during the summer of 1996. One train ran into the back of another and 7 people received minor treatment. Butlins were fined a total of £22,500. The cost to upgrade the system was thought too high, so the monorail was closed for good.
