In Good Girls, the main characters launder money primarily by replacing counterfeit cash with legitimate currency through retail fraud, a process often referred to as "cleaning". They purchase high-value items with fake bills, return them to different store locations for real cash, and use fronts like a bakery.
Their successful robbery attracts the attention of the store manager after he recognizes Annie as one of the robbers, and of gang leader Rio, who was using the supermarket as a front to store and launder counterfeit money.
It was canceled because the show fell short in watchability. In my opinion the show got worse as the seasons went on, and the ratings show that. The money is where the viewers are, and they simply couldn't attract the same audience as the first season because it made more sense, and had a bit of relatability.
