I have lived in this area for many years. This was a fantastic lively market where you could purchase virtually everything. There was a great choice and range of products. Used to take me an hour or so to go one way along the market and another to go back.
Walthamstow used to be an inexpensive area of London. It has become very popular with London commuters in recent years which has pushed prices and rents up, although it is still possible to find good value in the Walthamstow area. There are some expensive streets around Walthamstow Village and Upper Walthamstow.

How long should I spend at Borough Market?
Most people spend at least a couple of hours snacking and wandering in the market, so I would recommend budgeting a minimum of 90 minutes to visit. 2 or 3 hours would be even better. Because of how popular Borough Market is, the market can get VERY busy.
Last year the number of property millionaires in Waltham Forest, the London borough encompassing Walthamstow and Chingford, grew 56% as the number of homes worth £1m or more hit 1,330.
. . . while the least white place in London - by far - is Southall Broadway, where just 8.7% of the population consider themselves White British. There's only one ward in the city with a more than 5% Chinese population, which Millwall in Tower Hamlets at 5.4%.
A number of other celebrities have also been reported to have lived, or to still live, in Walthamstow - the list includes actress Kiera Knightley, comedian Alan Davies, singer/songwriter Ian Dury, and celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott. Artist Grayson Perry even has his studio there.
Walthamstow Market, in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, is the second longest outdoor market in Europe, the longest being the Porta Portese in Rome, which is 2 km long. It occupies all but the last 100 metres (330 ft) of Walthamstow's High Street.

Walthamstow is known for its vibrant community, green spaces, and creative scene, Walthamstow has become a highly desirable place to live. It's also home to the famous Walthamstow Wetlands, the longest outdoor street market in Europe, and the William Morris Gallery.

Four days is a solid amount of time to get a flavor of London and immerse yourself in its storied history and vibrant culture.
The best time to visit the United Kingdom is in spring (late March to early June) and autumn (September to November), when it's usually warm and dry. You'll see beautiful spring flowers or the leaves changing hue in autumn, and avoid the much busier summer period.
