Can I rest my foot on the floor when non-weight bearing?
The term non-weightbearing, sometimes prescribed simply as "N.W.B.," refers to restrictions placed on you immediately after surgery. You will be advised to avoid putting the surgically repaired foot on the floor. This typically means no weight whatsoever, not even for a second or two whether standing or seated.
Lightweight – the lightweight material used on a walking boot makes it easier for people to wear for prolonged periods of time. The lightweight material also helps protect nearby muscles and tendons as people are less likely to strain them due to wearing a heavier cast.
Can you wear a walking boot through airport security?
Being in a wheelchair doesn't give you TSA immunity, so here's what you need to know. If you can walk okay: The TSA agents might let you keep your boot on but will ask you remove the shoe on your good foot. Then you walk through the scanner like normal, and they'll swab and scan your boot on the other side.
