You have to have a park to park ticket to ride the Hogwarts express because it starts in one park and ends in the other. It's cute, but it's more a means of transportation than a ride.

Each train is an articulated cable car formed of five sections: a replica of a steam locomotive and its tender plus a set of three passenger coaches each with seven passenger compartments.
It's a wonderfully scenic journey out to Mallaig, passing by numerous lochs and hills/mountains. The highlight for many though will be passing over Glenfinnan Viaduct which we approached about 35-40 minutes after departing from Fort William.

Is there a dress code for the Jacobite train?
Appropriate Dress: Whilst we do not have any dress code requirements on board the train we would remind passengers that they should bring/wear appropriate clothing for the climate and weather conditions relevant to the excursion.
Despite all these challenges, the Hogwarts Express managed to move one million riders in its first month of operation, surprising everyone with its operational efficiency. As a result, lines rarely exceed 15 minutes in the morning and evening, although the queue may swell to an hour in mid-afternoon.

Aside from transporting students, where the whole train was exclusively reserved for their use only, the Hogwarts Express was used by witches and wizards who wanted to travel between Hogsmeade and London and didn't want to or couldn't Apparate or fly.

Standard seats on The Jacobite cost roughly £69 per ticket – this is what we had for our journey. They also offer First Class Tickets (£105 per ticket) and even those with a private table which are £229 (total for two tickets).
The West Highland Line is one of the most scenic rail journeys in the world. It runs from Glasgow up north to Crianlarich. One route then goes west past Loch Awe to Oban or continues north through Rannoch Moor to Fort William and Mallaig. Or you can do both!
How many times can you ride the Hogwarts Express at Universal?
Yes! As long as you carry a park-to-park ticket, you can go back and forth as many times as you wish between the parks. Just note, without Express Pass, you will have to wait the posted time for the Hogwarts Express, therefore if the wait is long, you might only get to ride it a couple of times during the day.
The Express Pass at Universal Orlando Resort theme park is a way guests can skip the regular line for shorter wait times and to maximize your time in the parks. The times we have used Universal Express Unlimited Passes at the parks were awesome visits.
The steam train trip aboard The Jacobite is also known as the Hogwarts Express, and it's possible to take an 84 mile round trip on this while visiting Scotland.
The Honeydukes Express was the food trolley aboard the Hogwarts Express from which the students could purchase various sweets on the long journey to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was pushed by a plump, friendly witch, and some of the sweets were likely supplied by Honeydukes Sweetshop.
The sixth also has the cave and inferi, which could definitely freak out a kid. I'd say the fifth is the least scariest. It has the jumpscare with the dementor, but then again, the first movie has the jumpscare with the screaming book.
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts is a 3D motion simulator ride that includes short roller coaster sequences. The carts mildly spin between screens, as well. *Spoiler alert: There is a small drop at the beginning, but you can't see how far down it goes, which could trigger motion sickness.
Yes the seats are more comfy but you may still be sat with strangers between you and the view! The view was amazing and worth the journey! Although the view from the road along the same route was also stunning. It is cool to be on the train used in the Harry Potter movies if you are a fan.
The popular tourist train The Jacobite was made famous by its appearances in the Harry Potter films. Safety inspectors said door locking issues put passengers at risk of falling from carriages or being hit while leaning out of windows.
