Toad from Super Mario is not explicitly asexual, but is generally considered part of a genderless species. According to Nintendo producer Koichi Hayashida, Toads are a "genderless" race that may adopt masculine or feminine characteristics. While they do not have set sexes, Toad and Toadette are not romantically involved.
Like most animal species, cane toads reproduce sexually. So about half the toads are males, and half are females. The sex of a toad is determined by its genes, just like in humans.

In the Mario universe, the most prominent LGBTQ+ character is Birdo, who was described in the original English manual for Super Mario Bros. 2 as a male who "thinks he is a girl and would prefer to be called Birdetta," leading to her being seen as a transgender icon and one of gaming's earliest trans characters. More recently, Vivian from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door was explicitly confirmed as transgender in the 2024 Switch remake, with dialogue restored that confirms she is a woman who was previously misgendered by her sisters, opening the door for clearer LGBTQ+ representation in the franchise.
Toadette is a classic recurring character in the SMG4 series. She is a Toad who first appeared in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and made her debut in SM64 Bloopers: Shy Guy Showdown. After she and Toad got together, she is known to be an insanely overbearing girlfriend, to the point where she's Toad's worst nightmare.
Toad basically has the look of the rest of his species. He normally wears a blue vest with gold trim, brown shoes and a large white diaper-like or brief-like piece of clothing for pants. His appearance often depicts him to looking like a small human child with his miniature size and recognizable human like features.
Toad is most often depicted as an enemy of the X-Men and was originally a hunchbacked mutant with superhuman leaping ability. He was Magneto's sniveling servant (or "toady") in the 1960s line-up of the Brotherhood of Mutants.
A Thwomp is a large, animated, spike-covered stone block from the Super Mario franchise that acts as an enemy or obstacle, known for dropping down to crush players who pass underneath, though they sometimes move horizontally or act as platforms in later games. First appearing in Super Mario Bros. 3, they have angry faces, make a distinct "thwomp" sound when falling (which is also their name's origin), and have variations like the smaller, jumping Thwimp or platforms in 3D games.
Wario was intended to be German at one point; German translator Thomas Spindler gave him German lines when he was brought on to voice Wario. This part of Wario was eventually dropped; Martinet's Wario voice did not have any German influence.
