Ross-on-Wye Town Council is responsible for running the twice weekly markets which are held every Thursday and Saturday from 9.00am to 3.00pm. At our weekly market shoppers will find a mix of stalls including flowers & plants, fruit & veg, fish and clothing as well as local crafts and delicious foods.
Today the market is held on a Tuesday and Saturday weekly where traders sell their wares of plants, rugs, eggs, cheese, fish, bread, clothes, hardware, paintings and pictures, vegetables, etc.
Built between 1650 and 1654 replacing the older, probably wooden Booth Hall, it has its origins in the 12th century when King Stephen granted the town the right to hold a market in the area which stimulated the economy and encouraged trade.

Definitely worth a visit. There was a real buzz on the Saturday we went into Skipton courtesy of the market. Lots of stalls, a number with older persons clothing, but others too. Was lovely to browse around in the sun and its great to see such markets keep going!
