How long does it take to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge?
You can walk the bridge (about a mile) in just 30 minutes--directions and photos below--but I typically recommend small groups to budget 45 minutes so you can spend time taking photos. Larger groups need more time, because more people will meander. But remember: walking the bridge is not a two-hour project.

If you haven't done either before, I'd suggest walking the Manhattan bridge to Brooklyn, exploring the area and then the Brooklyn Bridge back to Manhattan, but really a personal choice. Really good summary of the pluses and minuses of walking the two bridges.

5. BROOKLYN BRIDGE: A walk across the Brooklyn Bridge is one of the classic New York experiences. In addition to giving you a close look at the bridge's Gothic arches and delicate filigree of cables, it offers a magical view of Lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty.
The extended route covers approximately 6.1 miles if you walk both the Upper and Lower Loops. You should expect this walk to take around 3 to 4 hours at a leisurely pace. Again, your time may vary depending on your speed, the number of stops, and the specific paths you choose.

In the 2014 movie John Wick, mega-star Keanu Reeves stalked down Dumbo's New Dock Street, Adams Street, and Johns Street, as well as across Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge, doing what he does best. He returned three years later to film part of John Wick 2 on Plymouth Street.
