What if I don't have enough guest points for HomeExchange?
If you do not have enough GuestPoints (GP) on HomeExchange, you can purchase the missing points during the booking process, host other members to earn them, or request a reciprocal, non-point exchange. Buying points is possible but can be expensive, with initial points at roughly €0.15/GP and higher rates for large amounts.
You stay in their secondary home, give them points and then they can use it whenever they want. You can then earn more points when you're gone, by letting a different set of people stay in your place while you travel or visit family.
No Transfer or Purchase: You cannot buy GuestPoints from other members. Earning GuestPoints: GuestPoints are earned by hosting other HomeExchange members. Non-Transferable: GuestPoints are not transferable, meaning you can't give them to someone else.
How does it work exactly? When you host members whose homes you don't plan to visit, they give you GuestPoints in exchange for your hospitality. You can then collect and use these GuestPoints to visit other members' homes, in the destination of your choice, at a time that suits you.
The welcome GuestPoints you have earned while creating your account may expire 3 months after completing your first home listing, if the membership is not taken. You will be informed by email prior to this action.
Do GuestPoints have a monetary value? HomeExchange GuestPoints don't have a monetary value - they just make vacations even easier to arrange! The HomeExchange GuestPoints system has not been designed to maximize profitability or equate to earnings, so it doesn't have any monetary value.
Points and miles in airline and hotel loyalty programs can expire if there is no qualifying activity within a set period. Simple actions such as earning through dining programs, shopping portals or transferring points from other programs can reset the expiration clock.
After contracts are exchanged, the seller still legally owns the property, but they are contractually bound to sell to the buyer. The transfer of ownership, along with the legal right to move into the house, occurs later on the completion date, which is typically set at the exchange of contracts.

Every home on HomeExchange has a value of GuestPoints per night (GP/night). It enables members to exchange their home using GuestPoints (when a reciprocal exchange is not possible, for example).
