The 49-euro ticket, officially known as the Deutschlandticket, is a monthly, nationwide subscription for local and regional public transport in Germany. It provides unlimited travel on buses, trams, subways (U-Bahn), and suburban trains (S-Bahn), as well as regional trains (RE, RB) throughout the country for 49 euros per month.
Travellers can use the €49 ticket on the following routes to Germany's neighbouring countries, for example for a weekend trip, business trip or workation. Since 1 May 2023, people have been able to use local and regional transport throughout Germany for 49 euros a month with the Deutschlandticket.
The ticket is valid nationwide for local and regional transport. This includes bus lines, trams, subways, S-Bahns, regional trains, regional express trains, and also on some ferries such as those in Hamburg and Berlin.
The Deutschland-Ticket is valid for (most) local public transport, like busses, trams, the S-Bahn and regional trains like RegionalBahn (RB) and RegionalExpress (RE). And for that, it's a pretty good thing. But it's not valid in the InterCity-Trains (IC/EC) or the InterCityExpress (ICE).

How to buy a Deutschland-Ticket from the UK?
You can buy that ticket online, through the DB Navigator app or at a train station (they'll also be able to help you figure out which town you can travel to with the Deutschland-Ticket).
The Deutschland-Ticket is valid only in second class. Important! The €63 monthly ticket is not valid on long-distance trains such as the ICE (Intercity Express), IC (Intercity), or EC (EuroCity) trains.

There are no order deadlines for Deutschland-Tickets purchased from MVV, they are available immediately. You can also buy the ticket during the current month (until shortly before the end of the month).
