In the Flinch card game, the "flinch rule" allows opponents to penalize a player for failing to play a card from their top-facing, 10-card Flinch pile/stockpile. If a player misses an opportunity to use a card from this pile, another player can shout "Flinch!" and force them to take a card from the challenger's pile to the bottom of their own, hindering their progress.
Players must first play from their Stock Pile if possible. If they fail to do so, any opponent may call “Flinch!" Once Flinch has been called, the player who has "flinched" must take the top card from the Stock Pile of the player who called Flinch and add that card to the bottom of their own Stock Pile.
