We kindly ask that you do not bring your own food or drink into the Club and Tatts enclosure at the racecourse. Hip flasks are not permitted. Food for individual consumption is now permitted in the Best Mate enclosure only. No liquids are permitted, and there will be bag searches in place.
Casual looks include smart jeans or chinos for men – you can also wear smart, clean trainers at many courses. For ladies, smart trousers and jeans are also popular with jumpers or blouses depending on the weather. Casual dresses are also a great option.
Many men go all out with their race day attire and we don't see why not. You can go with something more traditional like a twill suit or darker colours like green and grey.
Derby Day is all about elegance and sophistication, so you want to wear a dress that exudes and showcases that. Any form of colour is a big no, so you wan't to avoid wearing a dress or accessorising with anything that is not strictly black or white.
The location of the boot release button varies from car to car, but it is usually located on the driver's side, either on the door panel or on the dashboard. To open the boot from the outside, simply press the boot release button or lever. This will cause the boot latch to disengage, and the boot lid will pop open.
It's perfectly legal to drive with your boot open, but much like carrying a mattress above your head, it has to be done safely and within the rules of the law. First and foremost, your load and the boot itself must be secure and not liable to fall from the vehicle or flail around out of control.
