The 2026 Winchester Foodies Festival (at North Walls Recreation Ground) runs from July 17th–19th, 2026, with the following times: Friday 2pm–10pm, Saturday 11am–9pm, and Sunday 11am–8pm. It features celebrity chefs, live music, and cooking theatres.
What time does the Great British Food Festival start?
Our events are open from 10am until 5pm each day (unless otherwise stated). You are welcome to come along and stay and enjoy the day, as long as you like.
Each Foodies Festival is a celebration of the food in each region, as we encourage local artisan producers, local street food traders and local food and drink producers to take part.
A food festival is a festival, that features food, often produce, as its central theme. These festivals have been a means of uniting communities through celebrations of harvests and giving thanks for a plentiful growing season.
Chic and Breathable Clothing: Lightweight fabrics such as cotton, linen, or chiffon are ideal for wine festivals, as they provide ventilation and comfort in warm weather. Consider flowy sundresses, maxi skirts, or linen trousers paired with a breezy blouse to epitomize effortless elegance.
The "2 PM rule" at Disney World was a temporary restriction that prevented guests with Park Hopper tickets from visiting a second theme park until after 2 PM, a rule implemented during the pandemic to manage crowds, but it has been officially retired as of January 9, 2024, meaning you can park hop anytime after entering your first reserved park. The key requirement now is that if you have a park reservation, you must enter that first park before hopping, but you can then hop immediately to other parks without waiting until 2 PM.
The Disney "60/10 Rule" (or 60+10) is a system for booking Walt Disney World dining reservations: Guests can book 60 days in advance, but Disney Resort guests get a perk to book for their entire stay (up to 10 nights) starting 60 days before their check-in date, allowing them to book popular spots for days beyond the standard 60-day window, giving them a significant booking advantage.
No food, soft drinks and alcohol can be brought into the Event unless the food or soft drink is to accommodate access/medical requirements. Please note, this is permitted at the discretion of security. No animals are permitted, except for registered guide/assistance dogs.
Was Diana accused of sabotaging Iain's Baked Alaska?
Yes, in the 2014 "Bingate" scandal on The Great British Bake Off, Diana Beard was accused by viewers of sabotaging Iain Watters' Baked Alaska by removing it from the freezer, causing it to melt, leading to his elimination and her eventual withdrawal due to illness, though she maintained it was only for 40 seconds and not intentional sabotage.
No, The Great British Bake Off (GBBO) does not air every night; new episodes typically air once a week, usually on Tuesday nights at 8 PM on Channel 4 in the UK, with previous series following this weekly pattern. While it's a weekly show, there are also different versions like Celebrity Bake Off, which aired on Sundays, but the main series sticks to Tuesday evenings for its ten-week run.
Briony May Williams has a limb difference, born with a left hand that stops at her wrist, which she affectionately calls her "little hand," and while she didn't want it made a big deal of on The Great British Bake Off, she embraces her disability as a disabled person, advocating for inclusion and showing others they can thrive, and was even named on The Shaw Trust's Disability Power 100 List. She makes small adaptations in daily life, like using a non-slip mat for cutting food, but refuses special equipment to be treated equally.
The Disney 120-minute rule is a key guideline for the Genie+ service in Walt Disney World, allowing you to book your next Lightning Lane (LL) attraction reservation either after 120 minutes (2 hours) have passed from your last booking or when you've used your current LL, whichever comes first, with the 120-minute clock starting at park opening if the first booking was made before then. This enables "stacking" multiple reservations for later in the day, preventing you from being stuck with only one ride if you book a popular one early, and it doesn't apply to Individual Lightning Lanes.
The Disney 3-2-1 rule is a popular park planning strategy to reduce stress by focusing on 3 must-do rides, 2 entertainment experiences (shows, parades, characters), and 1 priority dining/snack, making everything else a bonus, not pressure. It helps manage expectations in overwhelming parks, ensuring key goals are met for a more magical, burnout-free day.
The "333 rule" in clothing refers to two popular minimalist fashion concepts: the viral TikTok trend of using 3 tops, 3 bottoms, and 3 shoes to create numerous outfits (9 items total) for styling practice, and the more extensive Project 333, where you select 33 items (including clothes, shoes, and accessories) to wear for three months, excluding essentials like underwear, workout gear, and sleepwear, to simplify your wardrobe and reduce decision fatigue. Both methods focus on versatility, quality over quantity, and creating a functional capsule wardrobe.
Wear denim. Cut-off shorts, jeans, jackets and shirts, they're all welcome at festivals and make an easy go-to if you're unsure what to wear but still want to look cool. Be carefree enough to wear a patterned shirt. This means anything goes, worn open or buttoned up; this is a piece of staple clothing for a festival.
Most festivals allow you to bring your own food if you're camping, just steer clear of glass and excessive alcohol. Day ticket holders are usually allowed to bring only sealed water bottles. Always check.
Yes, you should absolutely bring condoms to a festival for safe sex and STI prevention, as relationships can form unexpectedly; they protect against STIs and pregnancy, are often free at health clinics, and can be found at festival welfare tents, but having your own ensures readiness and prevents mistakes, even if you're just out with friends.
