The Lodhi dynasty (1451–1526) originated from Afghanistan. They were a Pashtun (Pathan) tribe, specifically from the Ghilzai branch of the Bettani confederacy. Founded by Bahlul Lodhi, the dynasty was of Afghan origin, making them the first such rulers of the Delhi Sultanate.
