Meher Baba (born Merwan Sheriar Irani; 25 February 1894 – 31 January 1969) was an Indian spiritual master who said he was the Avatar, or the total manifestation of God in human form.
"Meher Baba" means "Compassionate Father." It is the name given to Him, their spiritual Master, by a group of His disciples in the early 1920s after signs of His spiritual status became apparent.
The Indian holy man Meher Baba decided that words were a big part of our problems. That people had overused words -- especially when it comes to talking about God. So he stopped speaking for two decades.
This child, he was told, would "complete his search for God." He continued to live as an ascetic for another decade, until 1883, when he announced that he would marry the then-five-year-old Shireen. Her parents permitted the girl to marry Irani when she was 14 and he was 39. He would later run a teashop in Poona.
Much has been written about the life and work of Meher Baba (1894–1969), a spiritual master who gave up speaking at age thirty-one. Despite observing silence for the rest of his life, about forty-four years, Meher Baba remained highly eloquent and prolific.

Why is Meher Baba famous?
Most of Meher Baba's followers accept his claim of avatarhood, and he is said to be "revered by millions around the world as the Avatar of the age and a God-realized being".
Teachings and practices. Sai Baba opposed all persecution based on religion or caste. He was an opponent of religious orthodoxy – Christian, Hindu, and Muslim. Sai Baba encouraged his devotees to pray, chant God's name, and read holy scriptures.
Sai Baba, Upasni Maharaj, Babajan, Tajuddin Baba and Narayan Maharaj - these are the five Perfect Masters of this age for me." All of these have since died and Meher Baba did not say who their replacements were, except to indicate that for the time being they will be in the East.
O Meher Baba, the captain of our ship, you are our protector. Another English translation: O God, command that the fire of ignorance be extinguished. Bestow upon your lovers the light of faith for which they long.
To love God in the most practical way is to love our fellow beings. If we feel for others in the same way as we feel for our own dear ones, we love God. If, instead of seeing faults in others, we look within ourselves, we are loving God.
Indian spiritual Guru Meher Baba (1894–1969) often used the expression "Don't worry, be happy" when communicating with his followers in the West, and the expression was printed on inspirational cards and posters during the 1960s.
Baba can be a surname in several cultures such as Dravidian, Japanese, Turkics, and Yoruba. It is also a nickname for 'father' in some languages, and translates to "father" in the Arabic, Persian and Shona languages. In various Slavic languages “baba” means an “old lady” (as in the diminutive variation babushka).
In terms of love, "baba" can be used as a term of endearment and affection between those in a romantic relationship. It is most often used between a man and a woman, although it can also be used between two people of the same gender.

In 1925 Meher Baba began keeping silent and for the rest of his life Baba did not speak. He communicated first by writing on slates but then adapted an English alphabet board by pointing to letters painted on it. Years later he stopped using the alphabet board and used his own form of hand gestures.
The third and final incarnation of Sai Baba will be called Perma Sai Baba. According to the prophecy, Prema Sai Baba will be born in a district of Karnataka. He said to be known to this world in childhood and emerge later again once He has matured in His human form.
Paul the Apostle emphasized the importance of overcoming the desires of the flesh and saw the state of celibacy being superior to that of marriage. Paul made parallels between the relations between spouses and God's relationship with the church.
Jai Baba is an expression used by followers of Meher Baba and means `Praise Baba. ` It is used as a greeting, as a salutation, as an outward expression of appreciation of Meher Baba`s life and qualities, or simply as `hello` or goodbye` between followers of Baba.
Celibacy for religious and monastics (monks and sisters/nuns) and for bishops is upheld by the Catholic Church and the traditions of both Eastern Orthodoxy and Oriental Orthodoxy.
Khichdi: Sai Baba was known to be a simple ascetic – hence the simple fare of daal rice, known as Khichdi was his favourite. Prepare some today and offer him. Coconut: Coconut is mostly used to pay reverence to all Gods. Offering some coconuts to Sai Baba is said to invoke his blessings.
Baba is a larger-than-life figure in Kabul, known for his generosity, wealth, and community standing. Despite his outward success, Baba has a complicated relationship with his son Amir, often seeming distant and disapproving.
But even though Baba doesn't really believe in religion, he does have a moral code. He teaches Amir that sin exists, but there is only one sin: the sin of theft.
