The 14th Dalai Lama is Tenzin Gyatso (born Lhamo Thondup on July 6, 1935), the incumbent spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism. Recognized at age two as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama, he has lived in exile in India since 1959, advocating for Tibetan autonomy and compassion.
