The founder of the Queens Night Market is John Wang. He launched the popular, diverse, and affordable open-air market in 2015 in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, aiming to celebrate the cultural diversity of Queens and the NYC area.
Set up in a parking lot at the Hall of Science in Flushing, Thway and 20 or so vendors were the inaugural participants in the Queens Night Market, an international food event established by John Wang.

How much does it cost to go to the Queens Night Market?
Is there a fee or are tickets required to enter? The Queens Night Market is free to attend except for our two sneak preview nights, which are ticketed to alleviate overcrowding concerns. In 2025, the two ticketed sneak previews are April 19th and April 26th.
The event launched in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in April 2015, with 40 vendors. Since then, it operates on Saturday nights from April through October, except for a break when the US Open tennis tournament is held within the park. As of 2023, the event averages around 20,000 visitors on Saturday nights.
