Why did the ceiling freak out when Moody walked in?
The ceiling in the Great Hall "freaked out" (turned into a storm) upon Barty Crouch Jr.'s (disguised as Moody) entrance in Goblet of Fire because it acted as a security measure, detecting an enemy/dark magic entering the castle. It likely initiated a Thief's Downfall enchantment to expose the imposter.
Such as when Moody first appears in the goblet of fire, lightning lights up the whole hall as it turns into a storm to suggest Moody isn't Moody and at the time it was actually an enemy to Hogwarts, Barry crouch junior .
However Alastor Moody is considered to be the most powerful auror of all time, indicating that he's second only to Dumbledore in power, and capable of casting shield charms so powerful, that not even Voldemort himself can penetrate them.
Barty Crouch Jr. licks his lips in the Harry Potter films as a snake-like, nervous tic, a cinematic addition by actor David Tennant to foreshadow his true, cunning nature and reveal his identity as a Death Eater, a detail not in the books but crucial for his father to recognize him.
He plays a pivotal role in defeating the dark wizard Grindelwald and is instrumental in the battle against Lord Voldemort. His mastery of magic extends to various fields, making him one of the most versatile and powerful wizards of his time.
Nagini further kept Voldemort alive after he turned her into a Horcrux with the murder of Bertha Jorkins in 1994. Dumbledore noted that Nagini enhanced Voldemort's mystique and underlined his connection to Salazar Slytherin, which contributed to Dumbledore's suspicion that she had become a Horcrux.
It was added into the movie because they needed to give foreshadowing to the audience that Barty Crouch Jr was impersonating Mad Eye . In the book, they use other methods of foreshadowing, (eg winky, more development with Barty Crouch Sr, etc).
Obviously Percy is a least favorite, but I also feel like he's such an important character for the plot of the story. His character shows how easy it is to get sucked into propaganda and do the wrong thing even when you've been raised properly, and how political discord can tear families apart.
The Heir of Slytherin in the Harry Potter series is primarily Tom Riddle (Lord Voldemort), the last known descendant of Salazar Slytherin through his mother's Gaunt lineage, who could speak Parseltongue and control the Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets, though Harry Potter temporarily shared this ability due to a Horcrux fragment in him.
The third-floor corridor is out of bounds to students during Harry's first year. Dumbledore warns that anyone who does not wish to die a painful deth ought to stay away. This is where Fluffy, the three-headed dog, guards the entrance to the underground chambers protecting the Philosopher's Stone.
The Emerald Potion, also known as the Drink of Despair, is a mysterious potion which induces fear, delirium, and extreme thirst. The drink cannot be penetrated by hand, vanished, parted, scooped up, siphoned away, Transfigured, Charmed, or made to change its nature in any way. It can only be drained away by drinking.
Why did Dumbledore say "please to snape" before he died?
By saying "Severus... please" Dumbledore was able to subtly signal to Snape that he was ready. Also, you have to remember that Snape was feeling slightly apprehensive about killing Dumbledore. So in a way, Dumbledore was actually pleading with Snape, only it was for the total opposite reason the Death Eaters though.
Severus Snape's last words differ in the book and movie: in the book, it's a gurgled "Look... at... me...," but in the movie, it's the poignant line, "You have your mother's eyes" before he dies after being bitten by Nagini, revealing his lifelong love for Lily Potter. Both moments emphasize his final desire to see Lily in Harry before passing on his memories.
Nagini's turn to evil wasn't a sudden choice but a tragic process as a Maledictus (a woman with a blood curse), losing her humanity as her snake form became permanent, further corrupted by becoming a Horcrux for Voldemort, who offered companionship and the false hope of restoring her humanity in exchange for loyalty, turning her from victim to ruthless servant. Her initial trauma, isolation, and dependence on Voldemort stripped her of free will, making her a vessel for his dark power, a tragic figure created by fate and dark magic.
Until then, Voldemort required the potion every few hours to keep his crippled body alive, and Pettigrew had to continuously milk Nagini for the venom to keep feeding his master.
Reposted from @_superheroacademy SUPERFACT : In the Dark Knight (2008), Joker can be seen licking his lips. This is actually because of the prosthetic scars that Heath Ledger wore. They keep falling off so Heath would lick his lips to keep them in place.
“Because he doesn't want to draw attention to himself at the mo ment,” said Sirius. “It would be dangerous for him. His comeback didn't come off quite the way he wanted it to, you see. He messed it up.”
