Masjid Al-Aqsa (Baitul Maqdis) in Jerusalem is the primary mosque widely believed to have been built or rebuilt with the help of Jinns under the command of Prophet Sulaiman (AS). It is one of the holiest sites in Islam, constructed for the worship of Allah with supernatural assistance.
According to sources, Masjid Al-Jinn was named after the place where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) met the jinn. It is also known as Al-Haras Mosque because the guards used to circumambulate the Kaaba until they reached the mosque, where they would stop until its companions and guards caught up with it.
It is said that the Jinn later embraced Islam and dispersed around the world as a Muslim – believer of Islam! Therefore, like human beings, Jinn beings are given equal rights to pray in a Masjid. Therefore, it is believed that pious Jinns take the form of humans or any other creature to pray inside a Masjid.
The present-day mosque, located on the south wall of the compound, was originally built by the fifth Umayyad caliph Abd al-Malik ( r. 685–705) or his successor al-Walid I ( r. 705–715) (or both) as a congregational mosque on the same axis as the Dome of the Rock, a commemorative Islamic monument.
They used to work under his command and build beautiful Mihraab and pictures, large cooking wares and water tanks. One of the tasks assigned to the Jinn was the construction of the third holiest masjid for Muslims – Baitul Maqdis.

According to one, Iblis is an angel, and according to the other, he is the father of all the jinn. Quranic exegesis (tafsīr) and the Stories of the Prophets (Qiṣaṣ al-anbiyāʾ) elaborate on Iblis's origin story in greater detail.
You might be surprised, but Jinns have their own diet! They don't eat regular food like us. They feed on bones, dung, and leftovers. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: ❝Do not clean yourself with bones or dung, for they are the food of your Jinn brothers.
