Upon his arrival, however, Abram is worried that the Egyptians will kill him in order to take custody of his beautiful wife Sarai. To avoid this, Abram declares that Sarai is merely his sister, even though he knows this means Pharaoh will want to take her and sleep with her.
19After this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field at Machpelah facing Mamre (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan. 20So the field and the cave that is in it, were deeded over to Abraham for a burial site by the sons of Heth.

Were the sons of God mated with the daughters of man?
The phrase "the sons of God married the daughters of men," found in Genesis 6:2, describes a mysterious event before the Flood where divine-like beings took human women as wives, resulting in the giant Nephilim; interpretations vary, with some seeing them as angelic beings (fallen angels), while others believe they were the righteous line of Seth intermarrying with the wicked Cainite lineage, leading to widespread corruption, with both views explaining the great wickedness God judged.
And when Sarah denied that she had laughed because she was afraid, God forced her to confront the truth of her actions. Yet he did not punish her or retract his promise. God's grace was great enough, not only to do the impossible for Sarah, but also to accept her human limitations and forgive her unbelief.
What does it mean when Mary pondered in her heart?
Mary was making memories. She was collecting a sort of mental scrapbook. The other key word in this verse is the word, “pondered.” The Greek word means “to throw thoughts together; mull over, draw conclusions, consider, confer mentally.” Another definition for ponder is to wonder at a deep level.
In Eastern culture, the thigh is the same as, or synonymous with the loins. Eastern people swear oaths on the thigh, just as Western people swear oaths on the Bible. The loins represent the reproductive part of the body.
Terah, the ninth in descent from Noah, was the father of Abram, Nahor, Haran (Hebrew: הָרָן Hārān) and Sarah. Haran was the father of Lot, who was Abram's nephew; the family lived in Ur of the Chaldees. Haran died there. Abram married Sarah (Sarai).
In the Bible, "70 times 7" (or sometimes "seventy-seven times") in Matthew 18:22 signifies limitless, perpetual forgiveness, not a specific number (490), responding to Peter's question about forgiving someone up to seven times; Jesus used this hyperbole to emphasize that Christians should forgive continuously, reflecting God's own boundless mercy, making forgiveness an ongoing lifestyle, not a finite act.
Sarai is a feminine name of Hebrew origin worthy of a dynasty. Meaning "palace," "master," "princess," and "releaser," this endearing title is a pure expression of adoration and aspiration. Yet its depths extend far beyond mere beauty.
Death. Sarah dies at the age of 127, and Abraham buys a piece of land with a cave near Hebron from Ephron the Hittite in which to bury her, which is the first land owned by the Israelites in Canaan according to the biblical narrative. The place became known as the Cave of the Patriarchs.
These traditions identify Hagar with Keturah, who, in Gen. 25:1 was taken as a wife by Abraham. After Sarah's death Abraham brought his divorcée back and she bore him additional children. Despite her divorce, Hagar's purity was not suspect, and she remained chaste until Abraham brought her back.
…Tobit's story is that of Sarah, daughter of Tobit's closest relative, whose seven successive husbands were each killed by a demon on their wedding night.
Did Mary and Joseph know each other before she was pregnant?
He probably didn't really know Mary very well either; the custom at that time was that in the year between the betrothal and marriage the couple rarely saw each other. He no doubt felt betrayed, alone, even stuck. The breaking of a betrothal like this was worse than breaking a business contract.
It depicts Mary at the moment that Simeon the Righteous says, "Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also...." (Luke 2:35). She stands with her hands upraised in prayer, and seven swords pierce her heart, indicative of the seven sorrows.
Sarah's Death and Burial. Sarah died at the age of 127, which was young in comparison to Abraham, who lived to the age of 175. The Rabbis explain that Sarah died before her time out of fright and connected her death with the Binding of Isaac.
Sarah Laughed. “Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in years. The way of women had ceased to be with Sarah. So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, 'After I am worn out, and my lord is old, shall I have pleasure?
Abram's plan works, and when “the woman [Sarai] was taken to Pharaoh's palace,” Abram receives benefits from the Pharaoh. In other words, because Abram let Pharaoh sleep with Sarai (a situation made possible by the fact that Sarai was pretending to be Abram's sister), Abram reaped benefits.
By choosing Isaac over Ishmael, God confirms that in all people born of faith (as Isaac was born of his parents' faith in God's promise to do the impossible) are truly children of Abraham and thus heirs of the promise.
If Jesus is God's Son, does that mean God had a wife? God has never had a wife. Calling Jesus God's Son is an expression of His role in relation to God the Father. Unlike us, Jesus was not conceived by two earthly parents; He was born of a virgin through a miraculous work of God.
